In the depths of Drenzdel lies an old mass of tunnels once used as a tomb by an ancient race, later to to entomb prisoners. An eerie wind blows through the maze, and no light penetrates the caverns. It is impossible to take one step without disturbing the dead – bones several feet deep cover every inch of the floors.
They say the dead are restless, that they wander the tunnels to this day. Once can still hear voices whisper and scream if one listens close enough. Only the desperate take refuge in the catacombs, and only the innocent have any chance of escape. Several entrances scatter around the old prison grounds, and if the dead are on your side, you just might come out again.
A massive cavern carved by time. The towering ceiling vanished into darkness, held aloft by thick ebony pillars. Older, more artistic people before have carved the black stone into elegant works of art befitting a lost temple. A quiet almost holy air seems to settle over this vast cavern filling all who enter with a sense of awe and foreboding. Carved into two central pillars, dark stair cases spiral down into the catacombs.
